Two Nights. Two Worlds. One Moment in Between.
On the 20th and 21st of March, we brought hopnøsis to Hotel Sky in Sandton.
Not as a product on a shelf.
Not as something to observe.
But as something to experience.
And it was something.
For two nights, the space came alive with energy, curiosity, and that unspoken moment where people pause, take a sip, and feel something shift. That’s always been the intention behind hopnøsis. Not to compete with the moment, but to sit gently inside it.
Stepping slightly out of line
hopnøsis was never built to behave like everything else.
But for a moment, we allowed ourselves to play.
In partnership with Whattshot Gin, we explored a different side of the drink. Light mixes. Unexpected combinations. A reminder that even something designed for clarity and calm can still have a playful edge.
It worked.
Not because it changed what hopnøsis is, but because it showed what it can become in different hands, different settings, different moods.
The real highlight
What stood out most wasn’t the drinks themselves.
It was the people.
The Hotel Sky team showing genuine excitement.
Curiosity turning into conversation.
First sips turning into second rounds.
Strangers becoming part of the story.
There is something deeply grounding about watching someone experience something you have built from nothing. Not in a loud, celebratory way. In a quiet, almost surreal way.
Like, this is real now.
More than just a drink
hopnøsis has always been about the in-between.
The pause before the next thing.
The breath before you step in.
The reset you didn’t know you needed.
This weekend reminded me why that matters.
Because in a space filled with noise, movement, and stimulation… people are still looking for something that meets them where they are.
Not louder. Not more.
Just… right.
Thank you
To the team at Hotel Sky, for the energy and openness.
To Whattshot Gin, for leaning into something a little different.
And to every person who stopped, tasted, asked questions, and came back for more.
You made it what it was.
This is just the beginning.
